I have had the greatest experience living at Edgewater Plantation! This is the most luxurious, straight-out-of-a-magazine looking apartment AND it was practically the cheapest option for me in all of Mount Pleasant! It's been 10 months since I moved-in in December 2017 and I couldn't be more happy. I'm a 30 minute drive from the beach, downtown, and my job - which are all in different directions. The office team is always friendly when I go to pick up a package; I recently adopted a kitten and they were so helpful getting me through all of the paperwork. Additionally, the maintenance staff is beyond amazing! I had a few bug issues when I fist moved-in and they immediately came to spray and install traps. I haven't had a problem since! They even noticed that my water heater needed some work and spent days making sure it was in perfect shape for me. The new refurbishments to the pool and office space look beautiful and I look forward to using the space for the rest of the season and next year. This is an overall great place to live in terms of location, budget, design, and hospitality!
Here’s a list of why I don’t recommend living here:
1) if you call the office, 95% of the time you will get someone who barely speaks English that answers from a call center who will forward your concern to the office.
2) They make you use a secondary package delivery service that requires you to use a completely different address than your actual apartment address.
3) if you use Amazon who will sometimes use USPS to drop of your package, it will most likely be returned to sender because they do not accept any packages that aren’t sent to the their package delivery service address.
4) Whoever they hire to do maintenance & touch ups around the buildings always leaves an absolute mess around the buildings. I’ve had 2 nails in my tires and the hallways are always a disaster. It’s embarrassing to have company over to see these hallways.
5) instead of spending money on more chairs by the pool , gym equipment or things our community actually needs/ uses, they put money into pathetic pool parties, tiny plant making activities, etc. They’re a joke and not where the priorities need to be.
6) I’m pretty sure whoever bought the gym equipment has never worked out themselves. You’d think with such a large community, most being young active adults, that they would invest into a bigger gym. You can barely workout in there with 3 people. They don’t even have water in the gym!
Awesome place to stay! Friendly staff and modern living with style! The staff and maintenance response time is second to none! I love it here!!
Though I have yet to move in, the process for getting my utilities set up.and the communication has been been great. Looking forward to a fresh start in the Low Country 😀 …
I wanted to take the time to write this review because I think some of these reviews are little biased.
First, yes there are dirty hallways BUT the property is right by the river and marshes. It's going to happen. It is impossible to keep them clean all the time considering locations.
Second, yes there is wildlife but again you are by the marshes and river. If there has been any wildlife killed, it was probably for the safety of the residents. I am sure no one wants their pets hurt.
If you are moving here from a different state, keep in mind there are things that are different here. HUMIDITY, is a main one. If you are worried about mold growing in your house, it is NOTHING that can do to stop this. YOU NEED A DEHUMIDIFIER IN YOUR APARTMENT!
I visited yesterday and Robert was amazing. I drove around the property before I went in to see for myself and I found nothing wrong. Charleston is experiencing serious growth even post Covid. Everyone needs to do their part.
The apartments are GORGEOUS. And if you think the rent is too high, you really do not appreciate what the apartments and the region have to offer.
I personally can not wait to move here.
Leasing office staff are kind and get you the answers you need quickly and professionally. The property is undergoing renovations currently and I understand they just added more staff which will help with getting things done. Overall, I would recommend Avana. It is a quiet and overall well kept property with great staff. The property management group is new and with some time I am sure we will continue to see improvements!
We have only been here a few weeks. We really like our actual apartment, it is nice and clean and the balcony is really big. We haven’t had a chance to use a lot of the amenities, but when we went to check them out a lot of the areas look run down and dirty. Specifically the pool and game/playground area. Also the stair wells and outside of our building is very dirty with stains on the ground from old garbage. We are hoping that when it gets warmer the grounds are cleaned up.
This community is in the perfect place to enjoy everything that Mt Pleasant has to offer! Convenient location, helpful team members, stunning apartments and amenities, what’s not to love?
